I will not touch the language itself yet...

But im working on an improved virtual machine.

Seeing as everything on the engine is a big tree (Well, thats my perception, i dont know if it is right), im planning a Virtual Machine with primitives for tree handling...

For a start, i need to know how the VM would interact with the engine... can someone help me understand ?

Hi jorgealdo!
Yes, a scripting engine is needed.
At the moment there is an Oberon 2 (Pascal successor) implementation. You can find its source in Oberon folder. But it lacks some needed features.
Scripting is planned to use for runtime shader constant setting and of cource to assign a game logic.

Hello !

I too want to help development.

My main interest is in the area of scriptability.

I wrote, a long time ago, a scripting engine (http//opensvn.csie.org/PascalScript). It is ancient, and now i think i can do a better job.

Is there any interest for a simple, pascal like, scripting engine ?

A general engine guide will be published soon (may be today). This guide and demo sources (Water, Land, Dungeon Looter) will give some answers.
These questions are too specific for a tutorial for each so please start a forum topics to clarify them.

Tutorials are in progress.
What are the most interesting questions to be covered in tutorials?

sample of code for :
- how to spawn 2 times the same object present in a cbf file.
- how to move one of the object from xyz coord origin to xyz coord destination (by code not with keys)
- how to rotate an object (by code not with keys) an specify the center of rotation inside the object
- how to test collision between object a and b
- how to destroy an object and replace it by another that will be fading out (explosion)

i guess only casted source will give me some answers on this for now... but casted source may be complex to start with

Thank you

Networking? Good!
The engine of course has some rules (and nuances) concerning subsystem integration. So a direct communication between us will need.
You can start a topic about network subsystem in this forum or communicate by email/ICQ/etc as you wish.

wanbor, you are welcome.
Thank you for server proposal but Google Code will be used for SVN (very soon) and there are many IRC servers in the world. We need only one channel.;)
What is really needed is a help in actual engine development.
What is the direction you interested in?

I would be pleased to join the project too like "drake", it looks really promising. I have possibility to create SVN and IRC server on my own server (in Czech Republic).

There is no such IRC channel (yet?).
But you can always ask in the forum.:)

Yeah :)
Another question. Is there an IRC channel for this project? Just if somebody (like me :D) has a small question and needs a fast answer, but dont want to write in the forum for that.

So mapping is actually about editor usage...
